Skills Development
Being a volunteer with St John Ambulance not only provides you with the opportunity to serve your community, but it also helps you build diverse skills. As a volunteer First Aid Responder you'll learn more advanced First Aid, have the opportunity to learn leadership skills and to further your interpersonal communication skills.  You can also learn effective management of potentially high stress environments. 


Volunteering offers plenty of opportunities to learn new skills or to practice current ones.

For more than a 125 years in Canada, volunteers have been the core of St. John
Ambulance. Canadians of all ages and backgrounds offer their time and skills to serve
their community. St. John Ambulance recognizes this commitment by presenting
national, provincial, or local honours and awards to individuals who truly
demonstrate the St. John mission.
