Caring for Communities Across Alberta
St. John Ambulance Alberta has more then 500 volunteers across the province. Our volunteers contribute over 80,000 hours of volunteer time to communities of all sizes in Alberta on behalf of St. John Ambulance. While the financial contribution of St. John Ambulance community service volunteers could be calculated in millions of dollars, the contribution to the safety of Albertans is immeasurable. When Albertans need them, our volunteers have answered the call.


 

First Aid Response Services
Trained St. John Ambulance volunteers provide First Aid assistance at
venues such as community fairs, concerts, and sporting events across
Alberta.

Therapy Dog Services
St. John Ambulance is committed to the thousands of Canadians who
are in hospitals, nursing homes and special needs centres. Across
Canada, St. John Ambulance volunteers and their dogs bring joy
and four-legged companionship to young and old through regular
visits under the Therapy Dog Program operated coast-to-coast in
partnerships with hospitals, palliative care units, senior’s residences,
special-needs schools and day-care centres.

Emergency Response
When disaster strikes, St. John Ambulance is there to help. St. John
Ambulance community-based volunteers are trained in an integrated
system of First Aid, CPR and health care.

  Other Volunteer Opportunities
Other opportunities to help St. John Ambulance include participation in
fundraising, being a guest speaker, Infant CPR Instructor, being our mascot
and serving as a Child Safety Seat educator. Check your local Centre for
