  • Standard First Aid: Standard First Aid & Level C CPR training.
  • Advanced First Aid: Advanced First Aid & HCP CPR training.
  • Emergency Responder: MFR, EMR, EMT, Paramedic, or higher levels of training.

Teams may consist of up to 4 people with valid First Aid certification and enter in the appropriate division based on level of training.

What is a First Aid Competition?
Teams perform in a timed situation to provide First Aid treatment to casualties in a mock scenario. The scenarios are created using real props and volunteer casualties with sim-ulated injuries.

Teams need to:
   • clear the area of any
      hazards
   • determine the number of
      casualties and their injuries
   • treat their injuries
   • prepare the casualties for
      transport by EMS

A judge, assigned to each casualty, records the First Aider’s response and treatment. Because scenarios remain unknown to the First Aiders until their turn to compete, team-work, critical thinking, and First Aid skills are all tested.

The team with the highest score wins their  division.

Teams may consist of up to 4 people with valid First Aid certification and will enter in the
appropriate division based on level of training.

Who can enter?
All companies and organizations with First Aiders or Emergency Responders are encouraged to enter a team.

Teams from office-based businesses, industry, retail, community organizations, First Aid volunteers and instructors, mine rescue, and Emergency Medical Responders compete with other teams based on their skill level.

Four Levels:
The Emergency First Aid
and Standard First Aid divisions are open to trained individuals 12 years and older (up to four people per team) with a valid St. John Ambulance First Aid certificate.

The Advanced First Aid division is open to those with Advanced First Aid certification.

The Emergency Responder division is open to those with MFR, EMR, EMT, Paramedic, or higher levels of training.

Trophies:
• Highest Aggregate Team Score
• Best Novice Team
• Best Team in each division
• Best Team Captain in each division

Team registration fee is $300.00.  Four banquet tickets are included in the fee. Additional tickets may be purchased at a cost of $45.00 each.  Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
