St. John Honours and Celebrates its Volunteers
Members travelled from across Canada to attend the annual investiture, which is a part of the Priory's St. John Day of celebrations. The day began at the National War Memorial with the morning Service of Remembrance and wreaths were laid to remember the heroic contributions made during World War I & II by St. John Ambulance volunteers.
St. John Ambulance recognizes individuals who have saved or attempted to save a life by using their first aid skills and knowledge. Sheldon Nimijean and Tracey Major were recognized for their life-saving actions at a reception hosted jointly by the Honourable Noël Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate and the Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons at the first annual St. John Day on the Hill on April 23, 2013.
