34th Annual Provincial Training for Life Conference

Each year St. John Ambulance offers invaluable training to our instructors and community service volunteers from all areas of the province. The purpose of this annual training conference is to help instructors and volunteers perfect their skills and increase their knowledge base in first aid and CPR matters. It is also an opportunity for participants to meet their counterparts from other parts of the province, which provides another source of valuable information. (View the Agenda)

CPR Challenge

St. Ambulance is celebrating 100 years of service in Newfoundland and Labrador and to commemorate the milestone we planned a significant province wide CPR Challenge which was designed to offer complimentary orientation to any resident of the province. We partnered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and put the event off in Goose Bay, Corner Brook, Grand Falls Windsor, Gander, Harbour Grace and St. John’s. Participants indicated that they benefited significantly during their orientation and left the event with a new appreciation for the skills that regularly save lives. This was emphasized went Mr. Lloyd Best spoke about how he saved a friend while vacationing and attributed the success of the endeavour to his training from St. John Ambulance. Plans are already in place to discuss methods of improving and expanding on the event and to consider making this an annual event.
Annual Investiture and Life Saving Awards Ceremony

St. John Ambulance will honour Newfoundlanders and Labradorians for their contributions to the citizens of the province and for their acts of bravery at an Investiture Ceremony held on June 10th at 2:30pm at the Anglican Cathedral in St. John's.
