Workplace Health and Safety Fundamentals for Youth Course - Newfoundland and Labrador - July 5, 2007

Workplace Health and Safety Fundamentals for Youth Course Receives Great Reviews!

The two day course offered jointly by St. John Ambulance and the NLCSA recently launched its first course to a group of youth in Central and Eastern Newfoundland.

One youth worker responded after she attended this training course that "it has totally opened my eyes to hazards in the workplace and I will now really look at things in a whole new light."

As one Instructor commented on the feedback he has received from the students thus far, "It's great to see they are taking a genuine concern and interest in their workplace health and safety...the reports we have been getting back from the youth tells us that our content is "on the mark".

This two day offering includes St John Ambulance Emergency First Aid, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training and an Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety session that will inform participants of their rights under the OHS legislation as well as the roles and responsibilities of the workplace parties.
