Lieutenant Governor Invested as a Dame of Justice - Nova Scotia / Prince Edward Island - November 1, 2006

Halifax, November 1, 2006 – On Saturday November 4, 2006, at the Annual St. John Ambulance Investiture Service held at St. Agnes Church in Halifax, the Honourable Mayann E. Francis O.N.S., Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, was invested as a Dame of Justice for the Order of St. John and installed as the Vice Prior for the St. John Council of Nova Scotia. The investiture and presentation was made by the Honourable René Marin, Chancellor for the Order of St. John.

The Investiture Ceremony honours the spirit of community service. The Order of St. John is an outstanding honour bestowed upon deserving members who have demonstrated exemplary service to their communities and who embody St. John Ambulance’s core values of charity, sharing, philanthropy, caring and passionate devotion.

The Order of St. John is one of five Canadian National Orders administered on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and was established in 1888 by Queen Victoria. The Governor General is the Prior and Chief Officer of the Order of St. John Ambulance Canada.
