CHRISTMAS IS BRIGHTER FOR CHILDREN OF JERUSALEM THIS YEAR THANKS TO THE GIFT OF SIGHT
Dartmouth, December , 2009- The St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group, Jerusalem will now be able to give the gift of sight this Christmas thanks to a $10,000 donation from the St. John Ambulance Nova Scotia/PEI Council.
“The NS/PEI Council of Saint John are delighted to make this significant contribution to the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital to further their humanitarian work with children in that region”, said Ray Roberts, Past President, St. John Ambulance, NS/PEI Council. “In addition to our international assistance, St. John Ambulance offers first aid training and provides a variety of local community services including medical first responders and therapy dog visits to seniors.”
The NS/PEI Council's generous donation will go towards the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group's needs such as their "For the Eyes of Children Fund Raising Campaign" which helps pay for saving and improving the gift of sight for underprivileged children who sustain blinding eye diseases.
