Request for Therapy Dog Services Visit

St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs help to improve the quality of life of anyone who will benefit from the unconditional love and friendship of a dog including those who are sick, lonely and helpless.  Dogs are non-judgmental. They are undeterred by human frailties and accept physical & mental illness, confusion or tears. They calm the distressed, distract those in discomfort, and comfort the lonely and shut in.

A regular visitation program can be implemented in acute and long -term care facilities, palliative care, rehabilitation and children's health centres or in settings where someone may benefit from the regular interaction and unconditional love a dog can give. The program is continuosly  adapting to new opportunities in health & community care, expanding into such settings as mental health facilities, shelters, daycare centres and schools.

The St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program is a volunteer community service provided by St. John Ambulance. To obtain the services of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog  Program or to get involved contact us.
