Provincial Award Recognizes Media Excellence - Nominations Now Being Accepted

The St. John Ambulance, Council for Ontario is pleased request 2009 Nominations for the Vice-Prior's Award for Media Excellence. This award recognizes and celebrates the professional career of current Lieutenant Governor and Vice-Prior of the Order of St. John for the Province of Ontario, and honours excellence in news coverage related to health and safety issues.

This award is to be presented annually to an individual, group or organization working within the electronic or print media. This is a major media achievement award and is designed to raise the recipient's profile among the public as a reputable and reliable reporter of health, safety and quality of life issues.

Nominations for 2009 are currently being accepted by the St. John Council for Ontario for consideration. Nominations for 2009 will be accepted until January 31st, 2010.

Nominees generally have to be residents of Ontario, except in unusual circumstances, approved by St. John Ambulance: for example, national media reporting on issues in Ontario. The presentation of the award for articles and pieces published or aired in the year 2009 will take place at St. John Ambulance’s Annual General Meeting in June 2010.
