Car Seat Technician

St John Ambulance offers training to those who wish to offer car seat inspection clinics in the community.

The appropriate use of are seats is determined according to the weight, height and age of the child. All seats must be installed according to manufacturer's instructions. Technicians serve to educate the public on the current regulations, the appropriate devices for their children and specific steps necessary to ensure the correct installation of the car seat in the vehicle.

In support of Transport Canada's objective to reduce death and serious injury to infants and children, St John Ambulance delivers a comprehensive program offering theoretical content along with practical skill application. Program participants are required to participate in car seat clinics in order to complete certification.

St John Ambulance also offers training for those interested in becoming Instructors of the Children's Restraint Technician program. For more information on the car seat training available in your area, contact your local St John Ambulance office.

Note: Car Seat Technician Training is not available in all provinces.
