Emergency First Aid with Level A CPR                                                                               

Meets the WSIB requirement for workplaces with 1-5 employees. This 8-hour course focuses on procedures and practical skills, which can be applied at the scene of an incident requiring first aid or CPR. The following modules are covered by this course: Cardiovascular Emergencies and one rescuer CPR for Adults, Emergency scene management, shock, unconsciousness & fainting, choking, medical conditions, severe bleeding, wound care and burns. This course is a one-day course available in both the public and private format.

Standard First Aid with Level A CPR                                                                                      
This course meets the WSIB requirement for workplaces with more than 5 employees. This 16-hour course teaches all the skills covered by the Emergency First Aid and Level A course (see above). In addition, on day two the following modules are covered: Secondary survey, bone & joint injuries, multiple casualty management, rescue carries, eye injuries, poisons bites & stings, heat & cold injuries, head & spinal injuries as well as chest injuries. This course is available in both the private and public format.  Renewals are available for this course.
Standard First Aid with Level A CPR Renewal


Standard First Aid with Level C CPR (Basic Rescuer)                                      

This comprehensive First Aid course will prepare participants to assist in emergencies involving infants, children or adults. This is the prerequisite course for first responders. This course contains two primary components: First Aid and CPR. The Standard First Aid component covers the following modules: Emergency scene management, secondary survey, shock, unconsciousness & fainting, choking, medical conditions, severe bleeding, wound care, burns, bone & joint injuries, rescue carries, eye injuries, poisons, bites, stings, heat & cold injuries, head & spinal, and chest injuries. Level C CPR provides training in cardiovascular emergencies, one and two rescuer CPR for adults, infants and children, and artificial respiration. This course also provides an introduction to (AED) Automated external defibrillation in a hands on environment. This course is available in both the public and private format.

Basic Rescuer - Level C CPR                                                                                                     
This one-day course focuses on procedures and skills required to assist in the event of a cardiovascular emergency. This course will prepare students to recognize and assist with cardiovascular emergencies for adults, children and infants. Training modules include: recognition of cardiovascular emergencies, one and two rescuer CPR, artificial respiration, infant resuscitation, emergency scene management, choking, shock, unconsciousness & fainting. This one day 8 hour course is available in both the public and private format.  Annual renewals are available.

Basic Rescuer - Level C CPR - Renewal                                                                                
This half-day course focuses on refreshing your knowledge of procedures and skills required to assist in the event of a cardiovascular emergency. This half day, 4 hour course is available to those who already have their certification but require a refresher. It is available in both the public and private format.

Standard First Aid with CPR  & AED for Health Care Practitioners (Level C - HCP)
This comprehensive First Aid course will prepare participants to assist in emergencies involving infants, children or adults with multiple and severe casualties. This is the prerequisite course for nursing. This course contains two primary components: First Aid and CPR and covers the following modules: Emergency scene management, secondary survey, shock, unconsciousness & fainting, choking, medical conditions, severe bleeding, wound care, burns, bone & joint injuries, rescue carries, eye injuries, poisons, bites & stings, heat & cold injuries, one and two rescuer, HCP level CPR for adults, infants and children, and artificial respiration. This course also teaches Bag Valve Mask (BVM) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED).  

CPR for Health Care Practitioners (HCP Level)                                                    
This one-day course focuses on procedures and skills required to assist in the event of a cardiovascular emergency. This course will prepare students to recognize and assist with cardiovascular emergencies for adults, children and infants. Training modules include: recognition of cardiovascular emergencies, one and two rescuer CPR, artificial respiration, infant resuscitation, emergency scene management, choking, shock, unconsciousness & fainting. This one day 9 hour course is available in both the public and private format.  Annual renewals are available.

CPR for Health Care Practitioners (HCP Level) Renewal                                            
This four hour course focuses on refreshing your knowledge of procedures and skills required to assist in the event of a cardiovascular emergency. This course will prepare students to recognize and assist with cardiovascular emergencies for adults, children and infants. This half day, 4 hour course is available to those who already have their certification, but require a refresher. It is available in both the public and private format. 

AED - Automated External Defibrillation (Please contact us for course dates)

An AED is a small , portable device that analyzes the heart’s rhythm and prompts the user to deliver a defibrillation shock if it determines one is needed. This device is utilized in cardiovascular emergencies. Previous training and valid certification in CPR is a pre-requisite for the course. For companies with an AED program in place, medical oversight is available with this course. Students will review CPR techniques, receive training on the AED unit, participate in practical exercises and receive certification for one year.

WHMIS (Please contact us for course dates

WHMIS is a short form for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. It is a comprehensive plan for providing information on the safe use of hazardous materials used in Canadian workplaces. This general WHMIS course is designed to provide the participant with the basics of the workplace hazardous material information system (WHMIS). The 5 primary areas covered are: Introduction to WHMIS, classification of symbol systems, recognizing and understanding WHMIS labels, and reading material data sheets. Each participant receives a WHMIS reference manual and a certificate upon successful completion.

Medical First Responder is ideal for anyone who must handle first response in an emergency. From emergency professionals such as Firefighters and Police, to industry workers in high-risk environments, this advanced training course can provide you with the skills to save a life when serious injury occurs. Some workplaces are more hazardous than others and this course may be appropriate for a workplace with a comprehensive safety program in place, or those operating in a remote location, away from immediate medical assistance.

This course is a 40-hour intensive training course for students with current Standard First Aid and CPR certification as a prerequisite. All students must complete a pre-study guide prior to course attendance. Training includes 21 core advanced assessment and therapeutic skills, plus electives which can be customized to meet individual needs in the private course format. Due to the advanced nature of this course the frequency is limited for public courses, but offered for a minimum of 6 students for private classes at your location or ours. Includes all course materials, course reference guides and workbooks, stethoscope and penlight for each participant. 

What Every Babysitter Should Know (Training for ages 11-15)                                      

Participants will learn the necessary skills to care for children from infancy to age 10. The program is designed to help build a mature and responsible attitude toward babysitting. The format is structured to be educational, yet enjoyable with practical exercises and lots of class participation. The training will prepare the students with the necessary skills to recognize safety hazards, select age appropriate games, toys and food, practice injury prevention, provide basic first aid and CPR and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Participants receive a certificate upon completion of the course. All participants will have to bring a baby doll (or stuffed animal of the same size) for practical exercises, as well as a peanut free lunch.

To help maintain our high national standards, our instructors complete a comprehensive curriculum including instructional techniques and specific content related orientation. Candidates are monitored in the classroom before being qualified to instruct unassisted.
