Meets the WSIB requirement for workplaces with 1-5 employees. This 8-hour course focuses on procedures and practical skills, which can be applied at the scene of an incident requiring first aid or CPR. The following modules are covered by this course: Emergency scene management, shock, unconsciousness & fainting, adult choking, cardiovascular emergencies & Adult CPR, introduction to Automated External Defibrillator (AED),medical conditions, severe bleeding, and burns. This course is a one-day course available in both the public and private format. 


This course meets the WSIB requirement for workplaces with more than 5 employees. This 16-hour course teaches all the skills covered by the Emergency First Aid and Level A course (see above). In addition, on day two the following modules are covered: Secondary survey, bone & joint injuries, head and spinal injuries, wound care, multiple casualty management, eye injuries, poisons, bites & stings and heat & cold injuries. This course is available in both private and public format.  Renewals are available for this course provided that the current certificate has not expired.

This course will prepare participants to assist in emergencies involving infants, children or adults and is recommended for Daycare Providers). This 16 hour course teaches all the skills covered by the Standard First Aid with Level A CPR course (see above). In addition, at the end of day two, the following modules are covered: Infant choking & CPR and child choking & CPR. This course is available in both private and public format. 


This course is designed for persons holding a valid St. John Standard First Aid certificate who wants to renew. Renewal is permissible once only within 6 years. .

This half-day course focuses on refreshing your knowledge of procedures and skills required to assist in the event of a cardiovascular emergency. This half day, 4 hour course is available to those who already have their certification but require a refresher. It is available in both public and private format. 



Participants will learn the necessary skills to care for children from infancy to age 10. The program is designed to help build a mature and responsible attitude toward babysitting. The format is structured to be educational, yet enjoyable with practical exercises and lots of class participation. The training will prepare the students with the necessary skills to recognize safety hazards, select age appropriate games, toys and food, practice injury prevention, provide basic first aid and CPR and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Participants receive a certificate upon completion of the course. All participants will have to bring a baby doll (or stuffed animal of the same size) for practical exercises, as well as a peanut free lunch.
