Privacy Statement for Corporate Clients

Course Registrations
St. John Ambulance (SJA) is a charitable organization whose mission is to enable Canadians to improve their health, safety and quality of life by providing training and community service. Our members include Members of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (the “Order”), volunteers, Instructors, Fellowships, donors and employees. Our services and programs are delivered through our provincial and territorial councils, which are provincially incorporated charities, across Canada. Within this Privacy Policy, St. John Ambulance refers to the National Office and its provincial and territorial councils and their respective operating centres (branches).

St. John Ambulance’s Commitment to Your Privacy
St. John Ambulance provides first aid training and related courses, programs and services to individuals, to community events and to businesses. We are committed to protecting the accuracy, confidentiality and privacy of information, including our clients' information, and adhering to legislative requirements respecting your privacy.  We do not rent, sell or trade our mailing lists.

Corporate Client Information – Collection, Use and Disclosure
Due to the nature of our service delivery, St. John Ambulance will collect personal information at the time of a course registration to ensure that the registering individual meets the course requirements, to ensure we have the proper information to issue and mail certificates, to collect course payment, and to update students or the respective client contact on changes to course/program scheduling and/or location. St. John Ambulance will not share corporate employee information including statistics, course prices, or employee lists with any third party without permission. 
 
Client Requests for St. John Ambulance Services
Clients requesting to register their employees for a course are requested to review our privacy correspondence for SJA students entitled “Protecting Your Privacy”.
 
Clients requesting first aid support from St. John Ambulance volunteers for a community or corporate event are requested to review our privacy correspondence entitled “Our Commitment to Community Services Delivery and Privacy”. 
 
Help St. John Ambulance assist you in the efficient and effective delivery of our services by relaying your trust in us to your employees and/or event participants.

Sharing Personal Information
St. John Ambulance will not use or disclose personal information except for the purpose for which it was collected unless you have consented or as required by law.
 
At your request, you may access your personal information, at any time, by contacting your closest St. John Ambulance office.
 
Your Privacy Choices
You have a choice when it concerns your personal information. To confirm or change any of your preferences or withdraw your consent at anytime, you can contact any St. John Ambulance office in your area. Please be aware that withdrawing your consent may prevent us from providing you with material or information on St. John Ambulance. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your personal information as described above, please submit these in writing to your Provincial/Territorial Privacy Officer.
