Steps to Becoming a Therapy Dog Volunteer
1.  Fill out and send in all volunteer forms found in the therapy dog volunteer package to the Provincial office.

2.  Once all forms have been received you will be contacted and sent an orientation package with a dvd, paper materials and a preception check.  Return the dvd to the Provincial office along with the completed preception check.

3.  Sign up for an evaluation session.  Successfully complete an evaluation session - dog and handler team

4.  Attend an orientation with the facility the team will visit with a representative of SJA - handler only

5.  Attend at least one supervised or "shadowed" visit at the facility with a representative of SJA - dog and handler team

6.  Once you are comfortable with the facility and you have successfully completed the preceding steps, your team is now a certified therapy dog team.

2011 Child Test 
Child Test is only for our current Therapy Dog teams who have completed atleast 10 Visitations. Please contact the provincial office to sign up for a Child Test.
