This training is for managers and leaders, across any industry, who are looking for tools on how to better recognize signs of distress amongst their team, respond to an employee experiencing mental health concerns, and create a culture of psychological safety in their workplace.
The Mental Health and Wellness: Managers & Leaders training is designed to equip managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote and protect mental health and wellness in the workplace. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of mental health in the workplace, and the tools necessary to create a supportive and inclusive workplace culture for employees that value mental health. Topics explored include reducing stigma, understanding risk factors for mental health injury at work, recognizing signs and symptoms of distress, effective communication and response strategies, and promoting resilience within the workplace.

Course Content
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Describe mental health and its profound impact on employees in the workplace.
List psychological and social risk factors that may negatively impact mental health in the workplace.
Describe some of the signs and symptoms a manager or employee may experience in the workplace along the spectrum from wellness to distress, as well as effective strategies to implement at each phase to promote resiliency.
Effectively communicate and respond to employees experiencing mental health concerns.
Participate in creating a healthy and supportive workplace culture that decreases stigma and promotes mental health and resilience.
