Chris Chan
A veteran of St. John Ambulance, Chris Chan has been with
us for over 25 years. He started at the age of 19 as a summer student and, let
us tell you, he has come a long way since! He was a junior officer, a
superintendent, and a provincial cadet officer before becoming the provincial
museum curator (spooky ghost stories guaranteed!). Clearly passionate about his job, Chris
tells us that he believes in what St. John Ambulance is trying to accomplish,
and has accomplished in the past. He believes that giving back is the best way to commemorate all the
help he received when he began at St. John Ambulance.
So why St. John
Ambulance? Partly because he fell into it at a young age, but also because of
the connections he has made along the way. He is astonished at the level of
camaraderie and encouragement that members of all ages receive. For Chris, home is
where the St. John is!
By far, Chris' favorite moment has been attending the
graduation of one of his cadets from medical school, and managing the nursery
at the PNE. He recounts how a performer’s quadruplets were crying so much that they
had to be separated, only to end up sounding like an “Adobe Surround Sound
Crying”.
So what does Chris enjoy doing during his free time?
Cooking, driving his stunning BMW, and reading. He currently serves as the
Director of Business Intelligence at St. John Ambulance.
Chris giving the Lieutenant Governor a tour of the St. John Ambulance museum on Cambie Street.
