Skills Development
Being a volunteer at St John Ambulance not only provides you with the opportunity to serve your community, but it also helps you build diverse skills. Volunteer Medical First Responders are trained in advanced first aid and health-care services. Therapy Dog volunteer-handlers and their dogs are trained in providing care to patients. The Youth Program develops skills according to the child’s age group, from fun, health-oriented learning to youth leadership and supervision.
Community Role
Our volunteers contribute nearly two million hours to our communities. St. John Ambulance’s volunteers are present at sports events, at festivals, at concerts or any community gathering. Communities in Canada are a safer place thanks to St. John Ambulance’s community services.
