St. John Ambulance Day on the Hill
What is St. John Ambulance Day on the Hill?
St. John Ambulance Day on the Hill is an annual awareness day to support the St. John Ambulance vision that all federal parliamentarians are:
- trained by St. John Ambulance to save a life;
- advocates for CPR and First Aid training;
- knowledgeable of St. John Ambulance and the services it provides; and
- active supporters of St. John Ambulance, its good work and its volunteers.
Our Chancellor, along with other St. John Ambulance volunteers and staff, engage with parliamentarians to speak about St. John Ambulance and to encourage them to promote First Aid training. Thanks to our parliamentary champions – representing the House of Commons, the Senate and all political parties – a series of meetings take place during the day between parliamentarians and St. John Ambulance.
Participants are also invited to an evening reception where a Canadian is recognized with a life-saving award. Media is invited to attend the reception and capture photos of the award recipient with his/her MP.
The reception is also an opportunity for parliamentarians to register for complimentary CPR/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training. Bookmark this page for future updates on St. John Ambulance Day on the Hill. For more information please contact Patricia Kearney (
