St. John Ambulance volunteers are invited to apply for one of the available scholarships tailored to support their educational aspirations in the healthcare and medical fields.
Whether you're pursuing a degree or technical certification within a four-year period, the Sidney R. Sharman Legacy Fund Scholarship and the Dr. Po Tin Chak Scholarship offer financial assistance to aid your journey in post-secondary education.
Available Scholarships:
Sidney R. Sharman Legacy Fund Scholarship | Purpose: To support St. John Ambulance volunteers pursuing post-secondary education in the healthcare field, leading to a degree or technical certification within a four-year period. |
Dr. Po Tin Chak Scholarship | Purpose: To support St. John Ambulance volunteers pursuing post-secondary education in medicine, leading to a degree or technical certification within a four-year period. |
Scholarship Proceeds:
Successful Applicants | Each successful applicant will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will be eligible for subsequent applications in each of up to 3 more years of study. Only ONE scholarship will be awarded to an individual student per their school year term. |
Completion of a Degree or Certificate Program | Upon completion of a degree or certificate program, following at least 2 years of scholarship support, a one-time bonus of $1,000 may be awarded upon submission of certification or a completed degree letter from their school. |

Proof of Enrollment | Proof of enrollment or acceptance of a 4-year undergraduate degree/technical certification program related to the medicine or health care field, such as biology or pre-med. |
Eligible Schools | Colleges and universities that offer a 4-year undergraduate degree or technical certification in a related field of medicine or healthcare, such as biology or pre-med. |
Recommendation | Applicant must be recommended by their respective Divisional Superintendent. |
